"gl_product_group_type" PROBLEM

I’ve been having issues with every new ASIN I list.

It seems to only be happening in the last couple of months (possibly when we started using our own EANs).

We sell automotive parts, products are always listed under some automotive sub-category.

When I create the ASIN its gl_product_group_type always now defaults to “gl_biss”.
From past experience if an ASIN is assigned to an Automotive category its General Ledger type (GL Type) should default to “gl_automotive”.
This is not happening.

All of my new ASINs are unable to have PartFinder fitment information added to them as technically the GL is classifying them as a Business Industry & Science product rather than Automotive.

Every single time I list an ASIN now, it defaults to “gl_biss” and I am having to contact seller support about the issue for them to change it for me. 9 times out of 10 they dont understand and they assume I am talking about the category and then I have to explain further.

I think that if I list by csv I can select the GL group everytime. But when I am only listing one product at any time it just seems counter-intuitive to do this through flat files.

Can anybody confirm if there’s a way around this or would I have to pester seller support or go the route of listing by file upload?

It’s rather annoying because this never used to happen and I could always list products fine and they were given the right GL and adding fitment information was a breeze.
