Account Suspended Due to Association with Another Account

Hello everyone,

I would like to share my situation to get guidance on how to proceed with my appeal.

My Amazon seller account has been suspended due to an alleged association with another account. The reason for this connection is that an acquaintance asked me for help setting up their Amazon account, as they were new to the platform and needed guidance. In the process, we accessed their account from my device and used my phone number for verification, without knowing that this could create an improper association according to Amazon’s policies.

After educating myself further on Amazon’s regulations and understanding the importance of each account operating independently, I asked my acquaintance to close their account to remove any possible connection to mine. It is important to note that neither account had any activity or sales, as they were not yet operational.

Additionally, both accounts belong to completely different categories.

I now want to submit a new appeal explaining that there is no longer any active relationship with another account and reaffirming my commitment to strictly following Amazon’s policies in the future.

I would appreciate any advice on how to structure my appeal or if anyone has experienced a similar situation and successfully recovered their account.

Thank you in advance for your help!

" It is important to note that neither account had any activity or sales, as they were not yet operational."

You appear to be saying here that one or both of the accounts had not been fully approved by Amazon at the time you asked your friend to close theirs.

Have you verified with this friend that they actually were able to CLOSE their account? Just because they tried, does not mean that they actually were able to close an account. If Amazon found something that they were concerned about they might NOT close an account so that they can investigate further.

Because YOU linked the accounts, it might be the case that BOTH accounts are being held hostage by Amazon until all their questions and concerns are addressed.

Which one of you (or both) received the suspension notice?

Find the suspension notice and POST THAT (the ENTIRE thing) but remove all personal information first.

Anyone answering will need to see what wording they used and what they are asking for.

The fact that two accounts are related is itself no problem. But YOUR suspension shows that this other account has been suspended for some reason. Since both had no sales activity at all it was probably for "deceptive, fraudulent and illegal", thing easily possible without seller account.

You can explain whatever you want. Amazon's AI doesn't understand kind words but just facts. And the facts are:

1. both accounts are related

2. both accounts used the same phone number for verification

3. one of the accounts has been suspended by Amazon

4. as a result of # 3 YOUR account was suspended afterwards.

No appeal will help in this case. You have to access the first account and fix it. ONLY then your account will be reactivated. If you want some help you need to copy and paste here Amazon's email regarding the deactivation of the other account.

(Btw. I don't hope that you use your forum name for YOUR brand. LG would not appreciate....)

Sounds Shady to me, you haven't even sold anything on either account and you tried to open 2 accounts? Did you read or listen to any of the TOS when deciding to sell here?

It may not be worth your time to even fight this, you may want to start again fresh. With different credentials and a new number. Since you have never had a sale, you aren't losing much.

Sounds like you jumped the gun, then convinced others to jump the gun with your shotty assistance, and now your both out of luck. As others stated, it is not purely for having 2 accounts unless you've tried to list the same products on both accounts. Amazon most likely perceives something you've done on one of the accounts as being fraudulent. I would spend a long time in seller university before I tried again if I were you

I'm facing a similar frustrating situation with Amazon deactivating my seller account due to an incorrect account association with another seller.

In my case:

I had a Letter of Authorization (LOA) to sell a specific brand.

I later submitted an official termination letter proving that I no longer sell that brand.

Despite this, Amazon wrongly linked my account to another seller account that was selling the same brand.

The other seller’s account has now been reactivated, yet my account remains deactivated without a clear explanation.

I have submitted all the required documents multiple times, yet I keep receiving generic rejection emails with no real response to my concerns. It’s extremely unfair, and it’s damaging my business with no valid justification.

It seems like Amazon’s system is failing to properly verify cases where sellers have had past connections with brands or other accounts but no longer do. Has anyone else experienced this? And does anyone have advice on how to escalate this issue effectively?

Hoping that Amazon sees this and takes a closer look at cases like ours instead of issuing automated denials.
