Saturday Evening / Sunday Orders and Monday Drop Off
The last few months I have noticed that orders dropped off Monday are taking forever to be delivered to some places. I'm finding many shipments taking a week to get to destinations while orders dropped off on Tuesday seem to move quicker through the system. As well, for some reason, when I drop off on Mondays, my shipments go to the local sort facility, but then they get sent to a second local sort facility, thereby losing at least a day of transit time to get out of the area. I do not notice this happening on other days usually. Orders that come towards the end of the week end up getting delivered a day or two faster sometimes even (Literally have orders that came on a Tuesday be delivered to similar regions faster than orders that came on a Sunday). As well, we've been forced to even start dropping off on Saturdays to make up for the lost time, which never had to before, but nothing we can do about Saturday evening and Sunday orders. Has anyone else been experiencing similar issues with USPS delivery times with weekend orders going into the following week? I've had to adjust east coast deliveries to 3 -5 days Free Economy instead of 2 - 4 days under Standard (Don't know why there is no 3 - 5 under Standard and it goes up to 5 - 8 from 2 - 4 so been learning to play around with the options). A lot of these issues also seem to have happened after being changed to 1 day handling time (We've always been 2 days so it's cut into my personal life more as well, thanks Amazon).

I'd be inclined to bring the question up to your postmaster. Kind of like in a 'how does this work on your end?' Might offer some helpful insights.

On the weekend the issue I have is I don't get an option for USPS Ground advantage for certain states. So the shipping is really expensive, but then everything is for on Monday for the orders that need to be shipped by Tuesday. It has been going on for a few months now.

Regarding promise delivery day ranges and Ground Advantage not being an available ship option, this is my solution that's worked for me (since October's ship template change).
Use the "Shipping Setting Automation" (SSA) shipping template option, where the transit time is "Managed by Amazon" based upon buyer location. Uncheck Economy (as that cannot be Managed), and use Standard shipping as your Free shipping option. SSA will give all your customers an exact Delivery Date, as opposed to a 3-5 day promise window.
If you want to always have Ground Advantage as an available option when buying shipping, you need to SSA rank GA as the #1 carrier service of shipping methods that determines delivery date. That's the bottom radio button option during SSA setup, Step 2 (I think).
