All orders are pending for 30 mins after the order is placed. As a new seller, are you absolutely sure that all aspects of your account are fully verified ? - with green ticks beside deposit method and bank account info etc.

I know I shouldn't say this but this train might be a bumpy ride. It has been for me! but I wish you and all good new sellers well.
Jilly is right (a fantastic source of info well worth listening to!) with the 30 mins grace period on all sales.
Also pending orders can be due to out of date buyer payment methods and can be a pain when they do last a few days.
They are frustrating because you cannot do anything but wait until they go through or are eventually cancelled, however you cannot ignore them because they need to be sent if and when they do complete.
They normally do go through but they can also get cancelled eventually, if the buyer doesn't update their details and it can take a few days, (my record is around 7 days)!

Also to add to the other comments if you are FBA then orders remain pending until Amazon despatch the orders. They are normally despatched by Amazon within 24 hours but sometimes take longer.
