dramatic drop in sales

Have you also noticed a dramatic drop in sales in March? I was selling toys in huge amounts in January and February, but in March is 4x less. The account health is same. So I dont know what happen... Some new rules, legislation?

Just the way business ebbs and flows as far as I can tell depending on what you're selling. You're not alone. My sales have been dire. Seen others on other platforms say the same. But has also been pointed out (and applies to myself too) - March/April have always been slow for lots of sellers. Even the physical shops I sell in have been dire this month. There's still payday to come for many, but I don't know how Easter will effect that.

Then there's the Temu effect. They're spending vast amounts on advertising at the moment.

Generally this quarter has been very tough. We're in clothing and are 25% down in overall sales. There are exceptions, but you're not alone I can assure you. Let's hope trade picks up for all.

January was fab for us but then feb and March have been dire. Probably not helping the state of the uk economy and political issues but let’s hope it all picks up.

The customer delivery promises are all over the place.

Are you seller-fulfilled-prime?

I was looking at your shop and you seem to sell expensive lego sets.

Those will be tough to sell in this economy

I did notice that your postage seems quite high? That may be the reason putting people off purchasing.

We’ve noticed significant drops in sales across the board really. You just have to adapt and find something that works to boost your sales another way.

For us, Amazon was 20% down last year vs 2022 (on average) and is looking like it’s going to be 20-25% this year vs 2023.

The problem I have, and I know some will call me sceptical but I get a feeling that Amazon decide how much you’re allowed to make and no matter what you do, that won’t change. For us, we’ve added over 100 new skus to Amazon, a handful of which are doing relatively well with some ppc spending yet we are still making the same sales overall despite the new revenue the new products are bringing in.

It’s actually driven us to put more effort in growing sales elsewhere - eg we spend between £2,000-3,000 per month on ppc on Amazon. If we spent half of that on our own website (or even the other marketplaces), we would be growing sales that Amazon clearly don’t want.
