Scam Buyers - Ordering A Few And Saying Only One Recieved Help!
So in the past couple of months I have quite a few people who have ordered about 3 or so of the same item and then they claim that they have only received 1.
Now I have been selling on Amazon for years but only seriously in the past year or so, I have always packaged most of the orders myself and until recently had barely had one in 300 orders having a problem with it and now I am checking and checking the quantity because I think I’m going insane and not sending the right amount but I know I am simply not making mistakes.
After refunding or sending more before now it has come to the point where I simply need a way to stop this happening. I have recently started asking them to send me a picture of the packaging as I have 6 different sizes of packaging and will never use packaging that is bigger than is required, so for example if someone sends me a picture of a plastic envelope that can accommodate more of a certain product than they claim to recieve than I know they are lying. However no one will send pictures of the packaging and give no reason as to why not. And even stranger they use odd language like ‘I cannot provide you with a picture but thank you for cooperating and sending me my products anyway’ (I had only asked for a picture at this point) and they often use the exact same phrases etc.
Can anyone help? My performance is good and I don’t want to leave amazon over this but I can foresee this being the next huge scam and I simply cannot think of a single way of arguing against it?!

I can only advise you to stop sending your buyers freebies or issuing them refunds. This way, you are only encouraging them to order from you again and again, possibly using different accounts.
Whenever someone contacts you saying, that their order arrived incomplete, offer them to return their entire order for a refund. This is what I do. I don’t ask them to send me any photos or evidence. I can see the weight on the carrier’s shipping information and I know, what quantity was shipped.
If they refuse to return it and open an A-Z claim, you will be able to represent your case, mine were always closed as “Amazon Funded”. Also, if the buyers failed to return the entire order, I only issued a partial refund and then defended the A-Z claims.
It has been a few months since I had a buyer who claimed receiving an incomplete order. So, this strategy definitely works for me.

When anyone buys 3+ items from us we send Recorded Delivery
And if anyone buys 4+ items we photograph the order. We have one of those free postal Apps where you scan the Royal Mail Recorded Delivery barcode and then put in the date it was sent, sellers name and then there’s the option of taking a photo and including that.
Then when someone says you have sent them the wrong items you can prove you sent the right things

This site needs to change its name to Scamazon as it is getting terrible with the amount of customers who are trying it on.
Ebay used to be bad years ago,but i find it a much better site to sell on these days.

We take photos of all orders , some items we sell in kits and get a lot of people saying stuff is missing.
The camera is dated and includes the address label and order in the picture. Usually the buyer ‘finds’ the missing item once presented with the photo.
I agree that amazon is becoming the target for buyers to try and scam.
I had one yesterday not saying stuff was missing, but received a call 8.15AM bought a cool coat for her dog, said it was too big, so instead of refund wanted the smaller size. I explained the returns process was refund only, and then she could make a new purchase for required size (reason for this is I am not going to be responsible for sending a size then they say that ive sent the wrong size, plus there is all the postage in between) she wanted a free return label, and a free exchange, I advised this wasnt possible in the nicest possible way. she just said OK thanks anyway and hung up. Next few minutes Neg seller feedback saying customer services was very poor, the coat didnt fit her dog and i refused an exchange so she would have to pay return postage and psotage again for new purchase. I suibmitted to amazon for review the automated one refused, so submitted to SS, they took it off to my suprise. wow i thought is this SS actually reading it and i was impressed they took it off!

Make sure you report them to Amazon as a suspicious customer.
Ask them if the packaging has been interfered with as you definitely sent the right number. Tell them you will report it to your manager at Royal Mail / the courier to initiate a missing/stolen item investigation on their behalf and they should respond if contacted by Royal Mail / the courier.
Most scammers back off at the thought of an investigation and you won’t hear from them again. If they are genuine they will appreciate your efforts to make sure their postie/someone at the depot isn’t stealing from them

You are just having a bad run. The overwhelming majority of buyers are decent honest people. We too sell good that are sold in anything from 1 unit to 10 units and do not suffer like you do.
If the losses are becoming an issue it sounds like its a good seller…hand the problem to Amazon and go FBA.
