Selling My own Board Game

I want to know how we can sell our own board game on Amazon. The name of the game is Saint's Rest and I have AI generated images on the cards and box. I want to know if I can use the name on my packaging in the image section of the game and in the title even though it is not trademarked. my game will not have a barcode on the box since its not registered trademark.

Yes, you can list it and get a GTIN exemption, however, please note that IF your game is successful, someone will steal it from you. They will register your brand name and kick you off the listing.

Also, please note, launching a new product, especially in such an over crowded category, will cost you thousands in advertising and Vine fees, otherwise NOBODY will ever even see your listing. Bringing buyers to leave reviews and feedback from other sources will potentially get your account permanently suspended, if any of these people are in ANY way associated with you (such as living near by, being facebook friends, working together....)

If you're serious about your board game, GET A TRADEMARK. Not only to protect your listing on Amazon as noted by @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI (and to unlock special Amazon marketing powers) but to protect your brand OFF AMAZON.

Yes you need to invest money and time for the trademark, but if you don't do it your chances of succeeding with this product are NIL.

As others have said, register your trademark with the USPTO, get a UPC from GS1, and register with Amazon Brand Registry.

If you don't, someone will eventually hijack your listing to steal the feedback.

It's not a matter of 'oh, I better do this or it's possible someone will steal my ASIN' - your ASIN WILL be stolen. There are malicious actors out there looking specifically for listings with no brand registry or UPC so they can steal it and absorb all your feedback into one of their own listings.

Tread carefully on Amazon, there are sharks around every corner.

Hi @Seller_5U7rvNPXi1kbF,

You can list your game under your brand even though it's not trademarked yet. If your listing is restricted, you will need to provide real world images to get your brand approved throughSeller Support in order to list on Amazon and it must display the brand on your packaging. You will not be able to use AI images for the approval. I recommend that you do not list the item as generic as the brand cannot be changed once you create the ASIN and if you decide you want it branded in the future, you will need to create a new ASIN, which will result in you losing all reviews that you may get on the listing. You can review the Detail Page Rules help page that provides more information. As you stated you do not have a UPC for your product, here is the help page that will help you apply for a GTIN exemption for your product. Even though your brand is not trademarked, you can still purchase a UPC for your item through GS1 branded to your brand and company name.

I hope this information is helpful!
