Ungate expense!!

I find it ludicrous to say the least that amazon expect me to spend ££££s on goods, some of which are not refundable, just to obtain an invoice. Then to be told that sorry you still cant sell that product. Its an EXPENSIVE NIGHTMARE. There should be a way of checking prior to spending money if you will be accepted for that brand.......JIMMY CHOO in particular.

I think you have to click "show limitations", when you try to list certain brands and get the following message ;

You need approval to list this brand.

You are not approved to list products with this brand. Please contact the brand owner to become an authorised seller of this brand on Amazon.

Collectable, Refurbished, Used conditions: You cannot list the product in this condition.

Can you provide the wholesaler name. I am also in the beauty category and may be able to help.

Unfortunately, Jimmy Choo is one of the brands that Amazon signed an exclusive deal with, where only them and a VERY select few that are directly authorised by Jimmy Choo can sell.

This is also the same with other major brands like Hugo Boss, Davidoff, Dunhill, Joop!, Thierry Mugler to name just a few.

This is actually not very good for Amazon customers, as stock levels are usually very limited and normally out of stock, have no choice of the full range... especially discontinued items, and Amazon tend to inflate prices on their customers due to this exclusivity.

Its also very anti-competitive as the brands pretty much sign these exclusivity deals with Amazon with the stipulation that the prices sold should be RRP or higher as not to cheapen their brand.

Its one of the reasons why other platforms are getting all the traffic and Amazon are no longer the choice place to buy a lot of branded items.

It will eventually blow up on them and will be another Nokia moment.

Im having the same issue with D&G in the beauty category, i was ungated from D&G no problem. Amazon keep asking me for information that is quite clearly on the suppliers invoice. Very frustrating.
