Account Health Rating Dropped 4 Point For No Apparent Reason
Just noticed my account health rating went from 256 to 252 even though all my seller metrics are near perfect and well within required standards. Customer service told me they (he) has no idea why this happened and even agreed that this shouldn't have happened. My questions is, if the health rating is designed to improve the quality of service, how does Amazon expect this to happen if they don't tell me what needs improving? Any sage words would be appreciated here.

AHR is based on two things; defects (negative) and sales (positive). Every certain number of sales (I think 50, but not sure) during the previous 90 day rolling period adds 4 points to the base score of 200.
If your sales recently have been slower than they were 3 months ago (and whose isn't??), then your score could easily drop, simply because there are fewer sales in the last 90 days. It's not an indication of any problems with your account.
Sad that support doesn't understand this; of course, it's a mostly meaningless number anyway, seeming created only to confuse people.....

Hello @Seller_aOpxIMbfexsDT,
Thank you for posting your concerns with your account heath rating.
I appreciate you providing your experience regarding the support your received, I have passed this feedback to the appropriate teams to look further into the situation, could you provide the related case you had when speaking with them?

Everything @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw said is correct. Our account health rating is on a 180-day rolling calculation, this will calculate the accumulative completed orders over this time. Every 200 orders will equate to 4 points. This works in reverse as mentioned due to slower seasons. 180-days is 6 months, that would put the start of the current calculation in February when there may have still been more order volume, which means some orders may have fall outside this calculation window dropping the score by 4 points exactly.
Since you mentioned the account health is good, can you confirm if you received any recent policy violations in the account health page? Most violations will impact the score by 4 points, and can increase to 8 points or more depending on the type of violation or situation.
You can also see more on this in our account health rating: FAQ help page where we go more in-depth on the rating and calculation itself.
