Child ASINs separated from Parent
Again, Amazon has suddenly split several ASINs from my parent SKU. The ASINs show they are still part of the variation family in the inventory tool, but they exist on their own landing page with their own review count now.
Seller support has given me a few different answers now, and I'm more confused than ever.
The first suggestion was that some of the other ASINs in my listing were in a different category and I should change those. I tried, and the browse node tool wouldn't allow it, saying they are already in the most suitable category.
The rep sent my case to brand registry, who replied that I needed to add the separated ASINs via the variation wizard and upload a flat file.
I did so, but I continue to receive upload errors on my submission despite having the fields entered correctly.
The latest reply was from a new rep who gave a vague answer about the reviews being shared as intended and that I should wait 92 hours. I replied asking if I should still try to get the flat file to submit, and I received a canned answer about reporting errors.
For any community reps out there, my case ID is 14790594631. I would deeply appreciate any help you could provide in getting things fixed. Thank you!

What are the errors that you are getting?

@Danny_Amazon any chance you could review my case? I just keep getting the same answers and I'm still not able to get anywhere. The case ID is 14790594631.

Hopefully, the Amazon mods see this. To provide an update with some extra context, support is telling me to do an upload to delete the parent and then re-upload to connect the child ASINs to a parent again.
My concern is that, since they are telling me some of the child ASINs are in different categories, I won't be able to rejoin the child ASINs to a new parent once I do the update/delete process.
I'm trying to work with Brand Registry still on the same case ID (14790594631) to let them know that I keep getting the same error codes about invalid conditions, despite the ASINs being accurate and the condition being New for all of them.
My file upload submission attempt is batch ID 281481019772.
Hoping for some kind of help.
Thank you!

How did you add them to the parent originally? If by UPC, just change it to ASIN and save. Should reattach them. If by ASIN, switch it to their original UPC/GTIN used to build them, same idea.

Same thing happened months ago. A few cases were opened and Amazon corrected the wrong category finally. Then the child ASIN was grouped in parent ASIN and works well.

Hey @Seller_afYuFHeGr0R56, thank you for providing your case ID. I see that yesterday Seller Support mentioned waiting 92 hours, like you said. I would recommend waiting that period of time and then letting Seller Support know if after that time the issue is still not resolved.

We've been dealing with that same issue for months now. Browse nodes were changed by Amazon, which triggers a Inconsistent Child Variation violation. Then we have to jump through so many hoops to fix an issue that is not an issue.

I'm sorry about it.
This is an issue that I go through more frequently than I would like to.
As someone mentioned earlier, Amazon frequently updates their system resulting in changes to browse nodes and categorizations for ASINs. Unfortunately, these updates can occur randomly and without notice to the seller. As a result, ASINs may no longer be categorized under their original family, breaking variations.
Based on my experience, no matter how many times you delete and relist variations, sellers cannot modify Amazon's catalog. Therefore, my recommendation is to contact Amazon Support and insist that the change was a mistake and that you need all the items in the same variation. It may take some time (7 to 40 days) to find somebody who can or wants to help you, but eventually, it might work. All the other options are just attempts to avoid solving the case.
I have had cases of broken variation for more than a year, and until now, nobody helped me, But, most of the time, I got to solve the problem.
