Relatively New FBA Seller and Need to Understand PPCs

So I'm a relatively new FBA seller. I had one failed product (I picked an item to sell that I didn't know much about even after researching it - my heart just wasn't in it) and I rarely used PPCs because I did not understand them. Fast forward, 2 years later to now, I recently launched my new product (and one I'm passionate about), used different 6 PPC campaigns to raise brand awareness and followed some guy on YouTube who knew about PPCs and thought I understood some of the PPC logic but apparently, I still don't get it. Amazon's cost of advertising is taking toll on all of my profits! And even after I paused 4 of the PPCs (stopping the least performing PPCs), Amazon is still taking my money! At this point, I feel like I'm just giving my products away and paying Amazon to do it!

First weekend of launch I had 19 sales and sales have been up and down, averaging about 7 orders a day, even with me slowly raising the price to what I want to sale the product at.

This weekend, I cut back the PPCs to 2…even after lowering my daily budget below $100 and Amazon still took over $250?!! What gives? I'm told PPCs are supposed to be $100 - is that each PPC or total PPCs? And what is this thing about "tricking" the algorithm? And how is Amazon still able to take more money than my daily budget?

And can you still make sales with only 1 PPC? When I was first running my PPCs I did see my product being advertised on the first page, even if it was in the middle of the page on my mobile but then again, I spent too much money doing that. What can a seller like me do to recoup. So to summarize:

1. Can you make sales with only 1 PPC?

2. Can you make sales with only 1 PPC with a daily budget under $100 daily?

3. What is the "tricking" of the algorithm with PPCs?

4. What is the recommended daily budget on PPCs?

5. Also, how is it that Amazon can you charge you more than your daily budget?

6. Can you sell your product without PPCs using other tactics?

Thank you in advance, Michelle

Hello @Seller_Dz9rmJSf3UY0c- and thank you for seeking some insight on PPC campaigns here on the seller forums!

The 'Learning Console' from our Amazon Advertising team has a ton of great content as you get started with advertising campaigns that should be of some assistance. You can look to this page for their guidance on managing Cost-per-click bids, Bidding strategies, and setting a daily budget.

The amount of advertising needed will vary from product to product and seller to seller, so I wouldn't be able to provide any hard recommendations, but I would consider creating a case with our Advertising support team if these resources don't address your questions!

Thanks,

Danny
