Something is clearly up with amazon!
discussion. There are sooo many things that are not making sense! I would post on here but at the moment I don't want to risk it. What we need is a whistle blower to tell us what in the world is going on. It is not possible to have no sales this time of the year, especially with thousands of listings.
Something is clearly up and I just wish someone who works for amazon that knows what is actually going on, decides to tell us!!

Our sales have been down too. What little sales I do have often come with weird issues, like the one I had to day where the customer selected media mail then messaged me to ask if they could wire me money somehow to have it expedited.
I do know that a lot of my instore customers have been leaning away from buying anything on Amazon since they keep changing their delivery times and for a company that claims to always put the customer first, their customer service reps are awful.
That being said, I would highly suggest double checking your products to make sure your pricing is competitive. Make sure your products are easy to search for and that your descriptions are well written and you have pictures (not stock images) for your products. I hope the holiday season brings us all more sales.

Hi @Seller_flXNiJRw0gh3z,
Questions about slower sales have been on the rise here on the forums, so thanks for reaching out here on the forums. @Seller_qTJiCxRI8PpIZ has already chimed in, but I hope we get to hear from some other sellers on this thread as well.
It's hard to determine why exactly some brands might experience a slowdown while some might be seeing trends closer to what they experienced last year. As we approach the holidays, some customers may tend to hold off making purchases as holiday deal events approach. Lookout for some future posts by Community Managers regarding holiday events. This could be a great time to capitalize on higher traffic.
Additionally, there was a widely known increase in purchasing habits from the previous pandemic years which could definitely impact the expectation to comp previous years' sales. Other sellers have also mentioned a change in economic climate in terms of more families watching their spending. These are just a couple of other things to consider as business trends can differ from product to product and brand to brand.
Also, as @Seller_qTJiCxRI8PpIZ called out, this could be an indication that it's time to give your detail pages a little spruce and check in on the optimization of your discoverability. As customer shopping behaviors and trends change, you'll want to ensure things like detail page content and search terms are changing as well. The following resources have some great information and best practices for updating our listings:
I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to see sales drop and trends changing (before my Amazon days I worked with a brand that sold third party here) so I do understand where you're coming from. I hope though that this helps give some perspective and provide some potential solutions.

We have also been experiencing the same slow sales trend that many are reporting on the forum. I notice at least 1-2 posts every day with the same topic. However, as experienced sellers, I can tell you that this is not exclusive to Amazon; it seems to be a common trend across all marketplaces. The economy is currently in very challenging shape, with interest rates at their highest. Consequently, most people are finding it increasingly difficult to afford additional expenditures.
Moreover, the banking sector has reported the highest debt-to-income ratio in years, which has caused people to curtail their credit card usage due to existing credit limits.
In times like these, it's crucial for you to evaluate your business and adapt to face economic constraints. While slow sales can be concerning, they also provide additional free time. I recommend using this extra time to explore new revenue opportunities and venture into different markets, products, or business opportunities.
Wishing you the best of luck in navigating these challenging economic times.

Temu.... people are buying on there. Just go to any FB group and ask where they are buying their non-grocery goods. Temu. Good luck! :(

sorry op..I'm too busy cleaning up Amazon's mess they are creating with the catalog. I've had so many listings get page not found for the stupidest things ever. Things that actually sell pretty good...way good. And if I'm taking a hit then Amazon must be too.
If I'm doing 10 sales a day I could be doing 20.....
Have a bunch of new items just released this year and Amazon took all the listings down, UPCs don't match their database or something. UPC lines up with the actual item.
Amazon is shooting themselves in the foot.
With Walmart+ I think alot of traffic is going with them now..it's half the price and includes free delivery in a few hours. I have it, I've noticed my parents use it more in the past month then they ordered from Amazon in 2 years, and I seen a delivery guy drop off 2 Walmart bags today at my neighbor's..
I received an invite as a seller to Walmart, I'm going to follow up...... Maybe I can actually you know, sell things!

Tell me, MODS, how this makes any sense at all: in five days, the sales go something like this: 0, 0, 0, 11, 0. WHAT? My pay periods for two weeks these days are LESS than what I sold in 3 days just last year.

We have not had a sale in 19 hours. We average 30-50 books a day and so far today -0-!? I got scared at first because I thought Amazon had shut us down, but nope, we're up and running. This has never happened in the almost twenty years of selling on Amazon. So when you say something strange is going on I agree.

Amazon is h-rdcore capitalism. They will drive sales to whoever pays them the most in commissions. The mega-sellers, even with their 70% feedback will win the Buy Box and the sales because Amazon is getting the biggest kickbacks from them. Sales are driven to FBA sellers and megasellers because thats where Amazon makes the most money. Doesn't matter if the customer experience is horrible. Amazon in truth cares little about delighting the customer. And they care even less about small sellers like us. its all about the $$$

Yes, sales has been slow this year. I think it's the overall economy and inflation. I sell Halloween costumes, and we have a few listings that are very predictable. For one, we order 1000 each year and they get sold out by 10/30. At around 10/21, we should usually down to 50% with 500 left. This year we have 750. So sales is down by 50%.
