We found ourselves in another Amazon chicken and egg situation. We have a branded product, but it is listed as generic, preventing us from listing it. I provided pictures of the item showing the brand, the requested screenshot, and all other details. Yet, I only receive automatic messages, and they do not help! It violates Amazon's listing policies, but no one takes action. We couldn't add it to our inventory.
@Simon_Amazon @Sarah_Amzn @Julia_Amzn @Maja_Amazon Could you please help? My case ID: 10677838372

Why has nobody from Amazon responded to this?
I have exactly the same issue. It seems like other sellers are manipulating branded listings to make them generic so that other sellers cannot sell on them. Amazon customer service ignore the emails to them and simply claim that we are trying to manipulate another sellers 'generic' product. Even when we provide evidence that it is clearly branded!
Can an Amazon representative PLEASE aid with case ID 10682862942
Thankyou!
Do you have Brand Registry access for the branded product's brand? If you do, simply report the generic listing as a copyright complaint and explain this is a branded product incorrectly listed under the wrong brand. This should get the ASIN removed and you can then recreate it with the correct brand.
Asking seller support to simply change the brand will not work, they are always very reluctant to do this.
If you don't hold Brand Registry for the brand then you may well be stuck. The only other solution would be to buy a new EAN for it and build the listing from scratch.
I get this issue all the time and I just don't bother to raise cases with seller support about this any more.
I think there are 2 reasons it happens. Firstly it is easy to get permissions to list under the Generic brand and often much more difficult to get permissions to list under the correct brand.
Secondly some sellers are now doing it as a form of abuse so they can get a listing all to themselves.m.
I've tried my chance with live chat; it's the same story. They say they can't change the brand because it is listed as generic. They suggest listing this branded product as generic! Amazon is against its policies! Awesome!
Mods, will you respond? @Ezra_Amazon@Simon_Amazon @Sarah_Amzn @Julia_Amzn @Maja_Amazon
This is some sort of scam to allow a seller to list a branded product without anyone being able to compete. The forum people wont comment as its a common issue that Amazon doesent give a monkeys about resolving.
Go to trustpilot and enter Amazon . The rating will explain everything :) :)
