Amazon's forced 'Buy Shipping' is broken

I have been forced to use Amazon’s buy shipping due to VTR rate dropping since they removed franked shipping option.

I have just had a customer say that the item was not received. Looking back at the order details it does not log the postage reference and am unable to reprint the label, so am unable to check the status on the royal mail website from the 4d barcode, I am also not able to make a claim with royal mail as I don’t have this reference!

If Amazon had allowed me to continue to use Click and Drop I could reprint the label and checked the reference.

I will now just have to refund the customer and am unable to claim with royal mail.

Amazon how is this an improvement for the customer or the seller?

if it was a letter, there would be no tracking anyway unfortunately

if it was a Large Letter or Parcel, you don’t need to buy from amazon
you can use either a RM business Click and drop account or buy at the PO and upload the Parcel reference number from the receipt
either of these way mean you could claim for lost items

I have literally never used the “tracking” number to claim for 1st/2nd class mail

But then I buy on account, so maybe its different.

Do you take your parcels to the PO ?
If so you need to get them scanned and a POP (proof of posting) receipt. You can then use that to claim from RM.

Have been using the free pickup service. But only the C&D orders are booked it. They pickup the amazon on the day as additionals. You don’t get a POP for them. It would have been scanned tho.
