Buyer messaged "Wrong delivery address" after item had been shipped - and filed an A to Z claim and was refunded by Amazon
So I had a buyer message me "Wrong delivery address" this is all they said in the message. I stated in the reply that the item had already been shipped and pasted in the address they/Amazon supplied. I'm thinking maybe they had moved since they last ordered and forgot to update this info in Amazon. So I asked if they had reached out to the USPS and updated their address with so mail would be forwarded.
Why else the address you entered on your Amazon account be wrong?
The item shows as delivered by USPS tracking.
Then they file an A to Z claim saying they didn't get it. Amazon granted the A to Z and refunded the order and says in the the claim they won't ding me for a defect.
So I'm out the cost of my inventory and the cost of shipping the item. Any action I can take to re-coup my inventory cost?
I long ago started looking addresses before I ship something on Google maps just to make sure Google maps can locate it.

Did you purchase your shipping label through Amazon? If so you are protected from these types of A to Z claims and you'll need to appeal to have Amazon credit your account.

As CoJack stated, you are protected if you used Amazon's Buy Shipping and it was scanned as received by the carrier by the Ship By Date. However, I would also appeal even if you didn't because you followed Amazon's policy which states to ship to the address in the order.
State in your appeal that you followed policy and quote the actual policy in your appeal.
Amazon likely won't reverse the buyer's refund but they should be funding it rather than you.

Hey there @Seller_Wdxma4s4F62M3- thanks for posting! I'll co-sign the guidance offered by two of our forums veterans here, add a link to this page describing the protections associated with Buy Shipping, and offer to take a look at the Order / claim appeal in question along with you here in case I can help answer any questions. Would you mind sharing the order ID if any support is needed on the appeal?
Thanks in advance!
