proof of sole trader status for VAT exemption

Hi

i need proof of sole trader status through a letter from HMRC confirming this however i have rang HMRC and they said they dont sent letters of proof out. I have tried sending Tax return but this wasnt accepted either. does anybody have any recommendations?

phone them again - you need a Confirmation of UTR letter in your own name.

They do send letters out. I rang them up and received mine last week.

As others have said either phone them or live chat them asking for a confirmation of UTR letter . HMRC are now more than familiar with this type of request .

I tried that too and was told no but they did say, on page 2 of your online tax calculation, it says 'profot from self employment'.

I haven't uploaded documents yet as I'm waiting on my VAT re-registration letter (they ask for a certificate but HMRC say there's no such thing).

Honestly, you'd think they don't want to give us this money back.

go on live chat from your account youll have letter in a week as ive just done it

If you go into your VAT account on HMRC you can go to your account and print your VAT certificate which Amazon have accepted from me several times

Amazon have just told me the that a UTR cannot be accepted.

Feels like another verfication shambles situation again.
