Pending order during vacation mode

I Have a pending order for over 24hr now (amazon verifying payment) ...... I put my account on vacation mode. I have a feeling once it clears I will have a order that I will not be able to ship.

Unfortunately, not much you can do about it. Since you don't have the shipping information, it's impossible to go ahead and package it up in case it clears, but if it clears after you leave for vacation, you'll have no option other than to cancel the order.

Even those of us who follow the wisdom of putting an account on vacation a day in advance sometimes get caught like this. Hopefully your account can handle a hit to the ODR (oh, and assuming you have at least limited access to your account, I would message the customer before canceling, to explain that the order didn't clear until you had left on holiday; they may or may not wait to re-order, but should help prevent negative feedback)

On the bright side, I find a lot of these "Pending" orders never clear, and just go away.

Now enjoy your vacation!

Depending on the item that's in pending, you may want to take it and a box with you to ship from the road. We've done that before and as @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrwnotes, many of these pending orders never became actual orders. If they did, we would have stopped into someplace that could print the shipping label for us and sent the package along.

Happens every time had one the other week it was pending for 5 days before vacation hold and 3 days into vacation it settled so we just canceled order, F that total poop that orders pending are allowed to process while on Vacation hold after that time period. Its almost like Amazon doe it on purpose just to stress you out while on vacation hold not like ebay where they inform customers seller is away for whatever time period!

For pending orders that may or may not come through, I get the item ready to ship, and then either have the person watching my house ship it for me, or I have take the item with me and shipped it myself. My luck is that when there is a pending order and we are going on vacation, that pending order will almost always come through. :--D

Most of the long term pendings we have get cancelled once the stoners figure out they can't get it for free.

I strongly believe that Amazon must give only 24 to 48 hrs Maximum for pending orders. Then, Amazon must cancel the pending orders automatically.

That order must have been placed just before you Vacation setting. I could have been placed even a day before your vacations, just pending due to payment not going through. If it has been pending for few days, it won't go through. If it does, just cancel it. If it is just a day or so before you get back, print a label somehow and ship a day later.

Welcome to Amazon, where (nearly) eternal pending orders make life more difficult. Just go on vacation and cancel if you must. Amazon is not more important than your life.

this usually happens when they add an item to their cart before you turn on vacation mode.. highly possible he added the item to his cart a day or 2 in advance before you went on vacation mode...

then he paid after you turned on vacation mode...

this happens alot to me when iI change a price and someone pays with a lower price a day or 2 later,

Amazon tends to honor old prices if you beat the merchant to adding the item to your cart

If you do have to cancel, send an email to the buyer FIRST, explaining & apologizing why you are canceling. Depending on what you are selling & how long you will be gone, you could ask them If they want to wait until you return, at which time you will upgrad4e them to Priority shipping.
