My new product keeps linking to an old discountued product from a different seller
I tried to list my new product to Amazon and it seems to link to an old discontinued ASIN. My product is a card game and it keeps linking to a piece of woman's clothing from another seller. I own the product ID on GS1 and I also own my brand. Amazon seller support have not been able to help me after trying everything for about 2 weeks. The strange part is that the existing ASIN does not come up on the amazon marketplace. I have 500 units of stock ready to ship so this is incredibly frustrating and I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?
I own the product ID and brand and have never listed anything on Amazon before

GS1 reuse old, discontinued bar codes. It's possible that the Bar Code you got from them was previously used for that item of clothing.
Your best bet is to contact Brand Registry team with screen shots of the GS1 page, pics of the product and show them how the product as it appears on Amazon is wrong.
You might have to keep at it for a while, but you should eventually get it fixed. Check other marketplaces as well, as the ASIN that you're getting combined with might be being sold on another marketplace even if it isn't here.

I had this issue. It turns out it was an asin on another platform (ie europe) that it was seeing. I had to list it as that item using that photo and information and make it live before they would do anything about it. So if you can do that, do that first. It took forever, and to add to that I didn't have brand approval for the other item so it took even longer. Eventually it got to the right team who fixed it by getting the asins unlinked but even knowing all that when I had another one, and I said to refer to the previous case for how to solve it rather than leading me round the houses they ignored it and took me to hell and back all over again...PS, if they try and send it to brand registry it isn't for them so tell them not to. It was the catalogue team I believe it needed to get to...
