Wrong item return, Amazon took full refund for buyer
Please help me. Seller support is useless. I need real help!!
A buyer purchased a Bible from me but returned leggings. I did the "refund" process, and did a 100% restocking fee. I gave them "0" back.
However, Amazon went ahead and refunded in full. The Payment screen shows they received $61.99. Please help me understand this. Maybe I am missing something, but even seller support claims the buyer received this refund.
Since "I" did the refund (which i NEVER did) I cannot open a SAFE-T claim.
Can anyone with a actual skills help me figure this out, what the buyer received as a refund, why buyer received ANYTHING as a refund when they returned the wrong item, and what can I do about this issue?
Order # 113-7304393-9039459, case ID 14760502221
Item shipped on time using Amazon buy shipping and arrived early.
Oh by the way, I had to pay for return shipping for buyer to return the wrong item, this is horrible also!

In the eyes of Amazon you did refund. The refund amount was zero, but you did process a refund, so are ineligible for Safe-T claim.
And yes, it is horrible.

Can you post a screenshot of the refund page where the restocking fee was charged?

No biggie just you normal Amazon mail fraud happens daily makes Amazon millions in fees collected off these type of issues but then again we are all likely loosing money selling here and we only do it for our love of Amazon right? In the end you will have PTSD cause by Amazon.

If you're going to sell on Amazon, get used to this. It's going to happen a lot. It's just one of the ways dishonest people try to steal from you. In a brick-and-mortar store, they can just attempt to walk out of the store. With e-commerce, they use other methods to steal. Raise your profit margins to account for an annual percentage of theft. Make sure you have an inventory write off expense account in your books and use it to write off stolen inventory at the end of the year.

Unfortunately, you are out of luck. The same thing just happened to me. I received cheap kitchen knives. I was told to keep them, by Amazon, even though I do not need them. I am also not able to file a safety claim, since they say I approved the return. I gave Amazon permission to authorize the return. I do not get why I cannot file a safe T claim when they returned the wrong item, but that is what they tell me, and I tried to file one, the system wont let me. It is not worth spending time to fight them, because Amazon is always right, and the seller is not :(

So they stole a Bible? I guess they hadn't got to the part about "thou shalt not steal."

This happens when you do a 100% restocking fee a lot. Next time do a 98% restocking fee and it wont. Its a glitch I think because the order has to show you sent a refund of some amount within 2 days of the return being received by you. Since no refund at all was sent it did it for you
