Updating business information
hello,
I have been selling with an “individual” account and on the 2nd July i created a company and updated the information on amazon as i would now like to sell with a professional account and not an individual account.
Amazon have verified my account and the information i provided although i have recieved the same email from them 3 times (i had already replied to the email) this is the email i recieved…
Dear Seller,
We received your request to change the business registered on your account. Please reply to this message and provide the information listed below so we can review your request. If you do not respond to us within 60 days, we will be unable to prevent the suspension of your selling privileges.
– The reason for changing the business registered on your Selling on Amazon account.
– The relationship between your current business and the new business you want to register.
– The name, including legal entity, of the new business you want to register. Examples of legal entities are sole proprietorship, limited company, and non-profit organization.
– Confirm if your current business will continue to exist.
– Confirm all the beneficial owners of your current business. A beneficial owner is a natural person who directly or indirectly owns 25% or more of the shares or voting rights in your business.
– Confirm the country of establishment of the new business.
– Confirm the all beneficial owners of the new business.
I do not understand how i am to reply to this as they are asking for “the relationship between current and new business” but i never had a current business…only the one i have recently set up.
i dont want to keep going round in circles with amazon and dont know how to speak to a real person on the phone to resolve this issue. does anyone have ideas on what my reply to this email should be or how i can speak to someone on the phone to resolve this issue.
my account is deactivated and it looks like this email i keep recieving is the reason why
any help is appreciated, thanks.

So whether you actually where or not, you look like you have been treated as a sole trader.
You have now changed this to ltd company.
So just answer those questions with that in mind.
If you weren’t actually a sole trader prior to creating the company, then surely you should have been.
But if your profits are not at least in the region of about £40k per year, it’s generally not worth creating a ltd company. So are you sure this is the correct route to go?
You also need to understand the difference between individual and professional.
On the one hand, that is private seller, versus business. But it’s also the same terminology for the different types of seller account. So this probably where your getting confused.

Hello,
My case is very similar to yours. I registered my sellercentral account as individual, then I created a company.
However I do not know how to update my business name, business address, tax information. Can you advise how you added your new business details to your sellercentral account?
I logged a couple of cases to Amazon, but their support has been of absolutely no help so far.

just to update anyone that is interested.
Today i had the legal entity change processed and my account fully verified.
i now have my selling privileges back
the whole process took around 10 days and although i had a problem with the communication with amazon in regards to recieving information on what to do next, how long the process would take, the information that i submitted incorrectly by email (im presuming i submitted wrong information as i had recieved and replied to the same email, asking for business details, 4 times), if anyone else has the same problems trust that your request IS being processed (even though it didnt seem that way)
the answers i was struggling to give in response to the email from amazon requesting the information i have stated above was:
-reason for changing = tax
-relationship between current and new business = similar
I hope this information helps anyone who has the same confused look on their face that i had when trying to change legal entity

I am in this exact situation as well, registered as sole trader about a month ago and have now emailed Amazon asking to change my account to my Ltd company details. I had the same email as you did NicoSupplies. I sent them back the answers and they then emailed me back to say they were going to ask the verification team to begin the changover. The following day my account went into ‘being verified’, although I was able to continue selling. I wasn’t asked for any further info and had no further communication from them until today; I’ve had an email saying my information has now been verified, although everything in my account still seems to reflect my personal information and not the Ltd company.
Is this basically what happened to you NicoSupplies? I’m wondering if I should chase them up or have faith they are still in the process of doing something…

Hi Barry,
If I go into Transfer Account it just says this:
’ We are unfortunately not able to proceed with your legal entity change request.
You are not eligible for performing legal entity change.’
The email I had in response to me giving them the info they asked for was:
Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
Thank you for your response to the most recent email from the verification team
I am forwarding your case to the verification team to request that they update your account process
When I transfer this case it will appear on your case log as resolved,
This is because the verification team need to open a new case in their system to enable the request,
Thank you for your patience while this process is put in to place
Thank you for selling with Amazon.
I’m thinking it can’t do any harm to email the seller verification team to just make sure the process is happening at least?

Yes I’m prepared for a long wait unfortunately. Time to get an email sent to them then!

I would be keen as well as I started the process today and would like to know how long it may take? Reason being because they have deactivated my account for the time being…
