Marketplace Tax?

Hello, as a seller based in the UK and shipping products to customers in Europe I am uncertain about this this new Marketplace tax since July 1. Yes my VAT number is verified in the countries I sell too. What I understand is the end customer pays a VAT tax on a given product. Amazon collects this and remits it to the respective country on my behalf. I think that is correct.
So if that is the case why am I now seeing the same charges deducted from my earnings resulting in that much less profits ?
Price: EUR 17.07
Amazon.co.uk charges VAT: EUR 3.41
Shipping costs: EUR 3.64
Participation in delivery costs: EUR 0.73
Amazon.co.uk Fees: (EUR 5.12)
Marketplace facilitator tax: (EUR 3.41)
Marketplace facilitator shipping tax: (EUR 0.73)
Total amount due to the seller: EUR 15.59

Thanks for your time. Yes I did try seller support but it didn’t work out so well.

Basically Amazon want the customer to only pay the checkout price no hidden surprises or extra charges when their order is delivered.
They take this tax at point of sale. They have explained everything here in the link below and made the following announcement.

Hello everyone,
I have two questions:
first option:
Ltd company in the UK has German VAT and UK VAT and sells goods to customers in Germany, will amazon charge VAT on the sale then? shipping is from UK.
second option:
Ltd company in the UK has German VAT and UK VAT and sells to German customers goods that are shipped from Germany or another EU country.
I am asking because amazon support can not answer.

Maybe there is someone who knows the answers
