Customer reference on Amazon Buy Shipping Labels

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem we face.

We understand that if we use Buy Shipping to buy the postage, we would be covered by Amazon if there was any lost of parcels or delays by the courier. However, we have found that labels printed through Buy Shipping are unable to be customised. As we sell apparels, there is a different ASIN/SKU for each size/colour combination for just 1 style, which means we have over hundreds of SKUs.

Royal Mail’s Click and Drop offers an option to print the SKU on the labels automatically, which helps us a lot as our warehouse staff can just pick the right item by looking at the shipping label, but shipments purchased on Click and Drop are not covered by Amazon in the case of a loss of late delivery.

Could anyone share with us if they also faced this problem too and how have you overcome it?

Many thanks in advance.

Print a packing slip from seller central and just match them up with the shipping label.

I just want to confirm you are aware of what buy shipping does.

you talk about being covered and insured - you realise that the only thing buy shipping will do is cross out any negative feedback relating entirely to late/non delivery and it will not affect your ODR if an a-z is opened.

You are in no way covered for the contents of that parcel or insured in any way for loss or damage to that parcel, you will still loose the a-z if it wasn’t delivered and you will still be forced to refund the customer. Its more a case of “we know you bought a label, we can check you posted it, so we won’t hold it against your metrics”

if you are talking about 1 in 300 parcels then why bother giving yourself the hassle, 1 in 300 parcels wouldn’t be enough to affect your account health to a point where you would be suspended anyway.

Everything Dedez says is true. Buy Shipping will protect your metrics for late delivery whereas C&D will not - but you may still suffer financial loss if parcel is not delivered.

However, if you do want a solution have a look at Packing Partner. You can download all orders into it then print out picking/packing lists. If you sort the orders in PP by date ordered the packing list will come out in same order as the labels printed by Amazon. PP will also do other marketplaces (eg ebay) and can also integrate with other couriers (eg Royal Mail) and you use shipping rules to determine how/where/courier/service etc to send your parcels. You can test where the order is from, price, any shipping upgrade, SKU, weight, size etc to determine how you buy the shipping labels.

The packing list will print about 10 orders per A4 page - so yes you still get some paper waste but its not that much. You can also print a picture of the item on the list so packers can check they have the right item and that the name/address matches the label.

It has other features too - such as ability to create invoices, download the labels, upload tracking to marketplace and mark as dispatched, etc.

Are you printing a shipping label one at a time? On a thermal label printer? If so, print a shipping label, open a notepad file and write the SKUS on that, print that to the next blank label, voila you have two labels together to give to warehouse, a shipping label and an inventory label.
