Does switching an item to FBM from FBA for the US also have to be force the items into FBM for Canada as well? The shipping price disparity is pretty disgusting.

Basically what the title says. As we pulled items from FBA due to the lower sales volume and higher fees and switched them to FBM for the US, we're a little frustrated with how that forces items in Canada to also be FBM. This wouldn't be that big of a deal, except that since I ship from the US, the orders that are FBM from Canada must be sent with international postage, which costs significantly more than what the buyer pays for shipping.

The most recent case is an order that was nice and lightweight, all packed up weighed 2 ounces. To send USPS International was $16.46 for me, where the buyer paid $5.54 CAD ($4.07 USD) for it, which makes the entire transaction already a $12.39 loss before we even examine the other costs, amazon's fees, and the item price.

I understand from a brief look that it's been like this for YEARS now on this platform. Why?

It literally makes FBM to Canada from the US unsustainable. We can't continue to sell at that kind of loss, so what options do we have? Increase the item price for Canada to offset the loss? Just stop selling anything that's FBM to Canada entirely? Neither of those are fair to the Canadian customer.

This problem also isn't hard to find, the disparate shipping prices are right there on the same page on the order details screen.

Ideally, what I would want is to be allowed to have the item remain FBM in the US, and FBA in Canada. The Canadian customer pays the in-county priced postage, and the item ships from their in-country warehouse and my fees and suffering to get the item to that warehouse costs significantly less than the brutal $12.39 loss (at least that much, I feel for sellers with heavier products) on shipping per item sent.

The way things stand right now is clearly bad for me, bad for the Canadian customer, and bad for Amazon. Fixing this issue seems like a no brainer, but then again it's been like this for years, so who knows what's going on?

Hi @Seller_Y2ONknaoeXqdd,

Thank you for reaching out on the Seller Forums and for your patience here!

Please know that you can fulfill an ASIN both FBA and FBM. In order to do this, you must create two separate listings, one for each fulfillment type. The two listings will share all the same information except for the SKU and the fulfillment channel.

For more information on this process, I'd recommend reading through this help page.

Please let me know if this is what you were looking for! And of course, if you have any additional questions.

All the best,

Jameson
