Shipping from manufacturer directly to Amazon

Hi,

Just assessing my options with regards to sending shipping to amazon and just wanted to gauge how practical it is to send products direct from a manufacturer abroad straight to the amazon fba fulfilment centre.

I am guessing if a shipment is created by me then I can just give the centre address to the manufacturer and everything should be fine, provided they label correctly etc.

Responses are all appreciated.

absolutely a good idea to save money - but only once you have a good established relationship with your supplier

if its your first shipment, you should definitely get the items shipped to yourself first

this way you can check the quantity and quality is as agreed and, you can send in a small shipment first to make sure you don’t suddenly get gated - as i believe its supplements ?!

Are you a new seller, and the first time you’ve done this ?
Have you had samples of your items to check quality etc ? - don’t want to order a load of stock only to find it isn’t quite what you expected.

It should be that simple but remember there are only 90 days to get the stock into Amazon once you have created the shipment. If your supplier fails to deliver in that time the shipment is cancelled and if your stock is delivered late it may not get checked in.

Watch out for quality issues even from a supplier you trust. This would be my single biggest worry about any supplier sending directly into Amazon. Sometimes I get quality issues on some of my items which I spot before I send to FBA. Personally I wouldn’t want to lose that control.
