Issue with Place of birth for Northern Ireland resident with Irish Passport

Hi all,

I am having issues verifying my account.

I have no had the error multiple times where “The place of birth on the identity document does not match the place of birth entered in Seller Central”

I have had this error both when I put place of birth as United Kingdom and Ireland.

I’m not fussed on the political situation here, although I am an Irish citizen with an Irish passport, but my place of birth is technically United Kingdom (County Armagh). A similar example would be an American citizen with an American passport, but who happened to be born in Vancouver, their place of birth would be Canada.

Amazon have contradicted themselves multiple times by telling me to change place of birth from Ireland to UK, which got rejected, and then told me to change it back to Ireland.

Just wondering has anyone else ever experienced a similar situation, and if so, did you get it sorted, as this has been going on a loop for me now. Seller support are useless, none of them understand the situation, and keep promising to email the KYC verification team, from which I have never had any response.

Well, what they are actually saying is that it doesn’t match, rather than an issue with the place as such.
So what exactly do you have in Seller central and what exactly does your passport say?
