Not able to edit listing to add my Brand's name

Hello fellow Amazon seller,

Hope you’re well and having a good year so far.

I’ve recently registered my brand and got approved for Amazon’s trademark programme.

However, as I started slowly, my first listings were created with “Generic” for a brand so I could get a GTIN exemption and now I cannot edit those listings with my brand’s name. Using the “edit” option through the inventory management, it returns a mismatch error with the ASIN’s identifier. Then I tested out the file upload option and it actually created a new listing (with my brand’ name), but stranded the original listing blocking my inventory.

Just to summarise then, am I not able to edit the brand field at all? Has anybody else gone through a similar situation?

Thanks

Once the brand is set Amazon will not change it unless you can prove that it was incorrectly set in the first place. For example someone set the brand as Nickelodeon but the brand is actually Disney.

Some sellers have had luck in getting a generic listing changed to a branded listing so you can ask SS but I expect the answer to be No. Normally in this situation Amazon do not change the brand.

No, you can’t change the brand from Generic to your own company brand. You can continue selling under Generic or create a new listing with your brand details on.
