Help please | Amazon is closing down my listings for no reason

Hey guys, so Amazon is closing my listings without giving any reason. My account health is in perfect order, no defects, no a-z claims, no complaints etc…

The listing for my best selling product was closed a couple of months ago, then a couple of weeks later the second best selling listing was closed. Another listing was closed, I appealed and got a couple of unsatisfactory messages - I have copied an extract from the last response below.

Now, just today another listing was closed and this was a brand new listing.

"Even if you were selling your product before, you may be subject to new restrictions for the following reasons:

  1. We have placed new restrictions on existing products that either require you to qualify or we may not be accepting applications currently. If your account becomes eligible to sell this product, you will see “Apply to sell” next to the product in the “Add a Product” feature in Seller Central.
  2. You have received a performance notification related to your product and are required to provide additional information before you can sell it again. You can view these notifications through your performance notifications or your Account Health page.

To obtain additional information, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to ‘Catalogue’ on Seller Central
  2. Click Add a Product, search by ASIN
  3. Apply to sell"

Has this happened/ is this happening to anyone else as well?

Is it your own branded products or is it someone else’s brand? Is it all the same brand?

It sounds like Amazon are putting restrictions on the brand and who can sell it. This sometimes happens for particular brands, normally you get an email to tell you that Amazon are doing this.

If you go to add the product as they describe does it ask you to apply for approval?

The trademark is Figurative. I have read in the forums that Amazon don’t accept figurative TMs, so I never bothered with the brand registry.

So, when I go to 'Get Support> Selling on Amazon>Listing Not Active and then I type one of the ASINs that’s been removed, it shows me this -

Why is my listing or offer not displaying?

You need approval to sell this product.

As our catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations for which products should be restricted based on a number of factors. Even if you were selling your product before, you may be subject to new restrictions for the following reasons: 1. To obtain additional information, please follow these steps: 1. Go to ‘Catalog’ on Seller Central 2. Click Add a product, search by ASIN 3. Apply to sell You can learn more about Amazon policies and products that require approval in Seller Central Help: – “Selling Applications FAQ”:

Is anyone else facing these issues?

We faced a similar situation with our several listings because Amazon was selling the same products at a higher price while our prices were lower. It appears that they have a preference for preventing any small sellers from earning profits that compete with their own. To make matters worse, they are not even accepting new applications! It’s clear that Amazon has no bounds when it comes to their greed.

every summer is the same, just they use different methods

They are now asking to create new listings because trademark does not meet their criteria or approval after 8 years of registering the trademark.

Also we have been asked to remove Avery products despite purchasing them from a wholesaler many years ago. They asked us from photograph of the front and back packagig showing the EAN no. despite this we were not approved. Are they actually limiting which seller can sell which product after the purchase?

The concern we have If the seller is required to have approval why was approval to list the product not requested at the time the ASIN was created or before the seller listed against the product? Its rather unfair to able to let the seller list the product and then the seller purchases stock having had no issues and now cannot sell on Amazon.

Just an update - I added 3 sizes of the same product to the catalogue over the last 3-4 days. These had to be added separately, and not part of a variation group as Amazon wouldn’t allow me to create variations.2 of the listings were removed, and 1 still remains open. These are exactly the same product… unbelievable.

It’s happened to me too. We’re trademarked and brand registered. It started with a daft policy violation warning about categorisation on 3 ASINS. I appealed as it was an error but no matter what I wrote, the kept asking for more information. Brand registry said ignore it, they’re in the correct category, the warning will drop off in 180 days. Next thing I know, the 3 ASINS became inactive and stranded. A case with the ‘leadership team’ has been pending for 2 months. Unfortunately, I pulled back the stranded ASINS and deleted the listing. They’re now for sale on other venues.

It’s an absolute joke and I’m sure it’s AI gone wrong but trying to get someone at Amazon to understand is like trying to reinvent the wheel.
