zero sales

Is it worth even trying to sell books here now? Since my last Amazon sale I have sold over 500 on another platform. I sell mainly Folio Society books which has a small but dedicated following. It's not worth the hassle of listing here then coming back to delete the listing when it sells elsewhere.

My inventory is now very low as I haven't bothered to enter new titles for the above reason, but the titles I am selling are mostly the lowest price, and many are sought after or limited edition etc. Is there any point continuing?

I too am a bookseller, and sales have decreased significantly over the past few years. Personally I believe it is due to the appalling state of the catalogue where sellers cannot find what they are looking for, the multitude of duplicate listings (mostly created by overseas sellers and dropshippers, that are not listed by ISBN, and so many other reasons.

It is all very disheartening, but sales do trickle in.

We do sell some Folio Soc. books, but most of them are pretty low value, and are very common. At auctions, there are always shelves of them up for sale, so FS is a pretty crowded market,. And, as Jilly says, on Amazon the bots often lump them together with trade editions, so they are almost impossible to find

yes it’s just awful now , yet I have few problems selling exactly the same books on the other platform. I no longer worry about duplicating listings because my Amazon sales are practically zero ( well ONE since Seotember!). Also, it’s pointless selling a book here for under£10 anyway, as the Amazon. ‘Take’ and postage leave you with almost nothing. I’m just trying to sell off my old books so hey ho, but, goodness knows how those trying to make a living out of this get on..

Same here , no orders for just over a fortnight. Depressing to say the least. I agree with Jilly, not easy to find books on amazon any more, changes to the catalogue appalling.

I think with the email we received today about the buy box (featured offer) it's going to depress us even further.

The race to the bottom price wise now is the only thing that will happen to make sales.

MFN and FBA playing fields have to be levelled says Amazon.
