Recommend signiture confirmation

Has anyone else had the message recommending signature confirmation on a customer order, I got this today on an order, but I've never had it before and found it odd, because even if the customer signs for it, if they go for A-Z claims it will still be refunded, whether signed for or not, is Amazon going to protect me against an A-Z claim if I do as they recommend and send signed for, any thought welcomed thanks

They do say a signature ' helps' but I think your ascertion that it won't even matter is likely correct.

I really don't see the point of adding a signature to an order unless it is very high value. Then you have more chance of winning an A-Z but it is never guaranteed to win an A-Z.

If you use Royal Mail they charge extra for signatures so for most seller it would just not be financially viable to add a signature to every parcel just to combat the occasional fraudulent A-Z.

Also signatures negatively impact the customer experience. Without a signature many items can be pushed through a letter box or left in a safe place. With a signature the buyer has to be in, if they are not they then have to collect or rearrange delivery which is not what most buyers want.

If I was you I wouldn't add a signature in most scenarios, as stated above I only do so if it is high value.
