Canadian seller GST/HST for Remote Fulfillment from USA
I am a Canadian-based seller. Some of our products are only available in Amazon USA warehouses, and they are sold to Canadian customers through the remote fulfillment program.
On sales that are remotely fulfilled from the USA, no GST/HST has been applied. It made sense to me because according to Amazon's website on remote fulfillment,
"Customers pay any import duties, taxes, and fees as the importer of record. That means you don’t need to pay taxes in Canada, Mexico, or Brazil."
(source: https://sell.amazon.com/fulfillment-by-amazon/remote-fulfillment#:~:text=No%20need%20to%20pay%20taxes,Canada%2C%20Mexico%2C%20or%20Brazil.)
However, our bookkeeper believes that it is meant for US sellers only, and that as a Canadian-registered business, we owe GST/HST to the CRA for those sales. Anyone has experience with that? It would be quite a hazzle if Amazon is not automatically charging GST/HST for us.
Grateful for any advice.

When we ship to the US, we do not charge GST/HST to the US buyer and neither would Amazon. The buyer destination determines the tax charged. Amazon would likely charge the buyer a State tax but not CDN taxes.
Never known any business I have been involved with charging GST/HST on US sales, never.
