Fraudulent and Generic Listings
After scouring through hundreds of products over the last couple weeks it is clear Amazon either has no process in place or perhaps no personnel to review. So many branded products have multiple "generic" listings or a slightly altered brand name, or a combination of both. It is easy to see that these sellers have just created a workaround instead of getting approval at any level.
There must be thousands of these listings just on Amazon.ca! In most cases the seller is also running ads so their counterfeit or workaround listings show up before the legit ones.
Honestly, I get that doing anything retroactively would be a massive undertaking but this is indeed why people pay Amazon to use their platform....to keep this knock off and counterfeit garbage out of the system.
1. Why is there no vetting of Generic Listings? (either proactively or retroactively)
2. Why when these listings are reported is nothing done? No communication/follow up and the listing remains. Is there really nobody on the other end of these reports?
3. Just because the scammer is paying for ads should not circumvent the fact that they are breaking the rules.
I don't know how to bring Amazon into this but hopefully somebody is actually reviewing this forum unlike the listings!
