Sales took a dive 8 straight days

Hello Amazon sellers,

I've been experiencing a puzzling change in my sales performance lately and wanted to reach out to see if anyone else might have insights or similar experiences. Previously, I used to consistently sell around 15 items per day, which was quite encouraging. However, over the past week, my sales have taken an unexpected hit, plummeting to just 1 item per day, with some days even showing no sales at all. This sudden decline is a concern, especially when I compare it to my usual numbers.

Adding to my frustration, my recent deposit, spanning a six-day period, only brought in a mere $6 in profit. This is a stark contrast to what I was accustomed to - often reaching into the hundreds or even over $1000 per week.

I've taken proactive steps to address this downturn by tweaking my listings, making changes to images, and refining keywords. Despite my efforts, I haven't seen any noticeable improvements in sales. It's been quite disheartening to witness such a significant drop.

I'm curious if any of you have faced a similar situation or if there's anyone who might have insights into potential underlying issues. Could there be technical problems affecting accounts or listings? If anyone has encountered or resolved a similar challenge, I would greatly appreciate your input.....sad

Thank you in advance.

So, business stinks, no question about that.

The bigger picture is how much and that depends on turnover as much as anything.

There is a vast difference between categories. It's one thing (a miracle) if you are getting one sale a day and you are selling Easter ornaments. It's an entirely different situation if you are selling Summer or Fall items and only getting one DEPENDING on how many items you have listed.

I have about 4300 ASINs and am currently running less than 50% of my normal order flow. DESPITE that, when I look at my phone AP the Amazon seller home page shows me UP over 250% from last year. Yeah, I trust that number........./S

Check out the headlines immediately next to your post though. Slow sales is ALWAYS a topic on Amazon.

Have you noticed the different format Amazon has now on their listings? I sell books, and the prices used to be right underneath the books, but now they are over on the far right and you have to click on something else to see who has it for sale. It would be very confusing so someone who doesn't navigate the internet very well. I'm thinking they just can't find me because my sales are almost down to zero.

Yes, we too are down for July-August.

Here's hoping for a BIG September, and an even BIGGER 4th Quarter!

Good Luck to us All!

Ever since the Amazon F-U with their nonsense about The Inform Act all 3P sellers have been experiencing next to zero sales.

Amazon simply does not want 3P sellers but would face massive lawsuits if the kicked everyone off. So the ones that are making Amazon the most money are not affected - yet. As for the rest of us - Amazon is just waiting for us to pack it in ourselves.

Inform act is the culprit. Our sales were way down for a while and we were not getting the buy box at all. Seems to be fixed now.

Yep, we're in the same boat! This last week has been 1/2 the sales we normally get. I figured everyone was school shopping.

It would be helpful to know what category you sell in. I sell books and have experienced a downturn in the past week. I have checked out possibilities and have found that Amazon has created new algorithms for buyers this past week. No longer can they readily choose new, used, acceptable, or collectible. They get to choose between price points on most listing sites, and if they look carefully, they MAY find that the old choices are still available. Many seller listings no longer readily show up under price points; collectable must be sought for and carefully chosen. --

I wish you all the best.

Algorithm is all wonky right now. I’m eight different categories, we’ve seen not only our listings, but listings of competitors up/down all hours of the day. Typically these numbers rarely fluctuate but a couple places in either direction. However, even placement in search results is up/down as many as 10 places when viewed every hour. It almost seems like a hard reset on sales data that drives placement. Something changed and until it gets sorted out, I’d be ready for the long haul.

I watched my sales plummet from consistent $800-900 a day to $150-$300 from one minute to the next. I also watched my reserve shoot up. So I don't know, I am also not seeing my positive reviews show up and some of my listings do not even show up. I sell mostly books but also dvd's and some parts as well.

My sales are next to non-existent on the weekends, and then they slowly pick back up on the weekdays, only to end Friday night. I think there are several factors apart from a downturn economy and general buying trends. Temu is pulling away causal online shoppers. We have also seen an increase in competitors moving in with extremely low prices (this includes Amazon with a copycat product). PPC is also just NOT converting like it used to. Don't know what to say--but it is becoming more and more difficult to sell with such thin margins.
