Amazon Locked £5,000 Balance and Thousands of Pounds in Stock – Unjust and Unacceptable

Dear Amazon Forum Members,

I am reaching out here because I am at my wit’s end. Amazon has unfairly deactivated my seller account, holding £5,000 of my hard-earned money and thousands of pounds worth of stock hostage without any proper justification. Despite providing every piece of evidence requested, Amazon refuses to release my funds or my inventory.

The Story So Far:

We have completed full verification, including video verification and passing Amazon’s KYC (Know Your Customer) process.

Amazon is still claiming that I need to prove my UK establishment. Despite this, I have already provided:

Utility bills in my name and the company name.

Supplier invoices showing our UK operations.

Council tax bills under my name as the business owner.

Amazon confirmed receipt of these documents, yet they continue to reject them without clear feedback or explanation.

The Impact:

£5,000 of balance locked: Money I’ve earned from delivering high-quality service to my customers is being held with no access.

Thousands of pounds worth of stock trapped: Inventory I’ve worked tirelessly to procure and manage is now inaccessible.

Severe business damage: My livelihood has been jeopardized, and my customers are left waiting due to this unfair treatment.

Amazon’s Approach:

No specific reasons provided: They refuse to explain what is wrong with the documents.

No clear escalation process: Support keeps redirecting me without resolving anything.

No resolution timeline: I am stuck in limbo while my business and reputation suffer.

We Have Provided Everything Amazon Requested:

Proof of our UK company registration direct from publicly accessible government website

Evidence of our UK-based business establishment, including multiple utility bills, supplier invoices, and council tax bills.

Confirmation that we are not VAT-registered (which is in full compliance with UK regulations).

All documents were authentic and up-to-date, yet Amazon continues to reject them without justification.

My Questions for Amazon:

How can you justify holding my money and stock without giving me a fair chance to resolve the issue?

Why is there no accountability in the verification process?

What steps can I take to actually speak with someone who can make decisions and resolve this?

To Other Sellers:

Has anyone else faced this? What did you do to get your account reinstated or your funds released? I refuse to let Amazon bury this issue without accountability.

Amazon, Step Up!

I demand:

Immediate access to my funds.

A clear explanation of what is wrong with my documents.

Release of my inventory or compensation for its loss.

Amazon prides itself on being customer- and seller-centric. Prove it. This treatment is beyond unjust, and I will not stop fighting for what is rightfully mine.

We have been advised to take legal action against Amazon to recover our funds and compensate for the damages caused by this unjust treatment.

Sellers, please share your advice or support. Amazon, do the right thing.

First of all I would recommend that you demand nothing. You are not in a position of making any demands and you are not entitled to anything. Amazon are a law unto themselves.

In order to help you need to explain what stage of the process you are at. Have Amazon said there is a problem with your documents? If so they would normally indicate this problem but you need to work this out for yourself.

The only insight I can offer you on this is if your documents are being rejected is how quickly they are being rejected.

If the rejection is almost immedaitely after they have been submitted then this will likely be a formatting or syntax error that is being picked up by AI. If this is coming back after a day or 2 then you will have to take a deeper look into this.

Amazon will not release or compensate for losses, it is down to you to ensure compliance and they hold all of the cards despite your opinion.

Amazon is not seller centric, they are customer centric and you will learn that even more as time goes on. All sellers no matter how big or small are treated with equal contempt. They have proven this time and time again so no need to make this a special case for you, most sellers are aware of this.

You have been advised to take legal action by who? I wouldn't advise it, I would just concentrate on getting Amazon to veiw your documents and having them in a format that they can understand. You certainly won't end up with compensation for damages and what would be the damages if you could not get your business up and running? The best you can hope for is that you end up with the money you have earned. Amazon do not offer you a right to earn a living off their site so not likely to compensate you for negating the right.

The accountability in the verification is down to you and not Amazon. resubmit your documents but the clues are there when you receive your responses. It isn't easy but check things like your company name on documents match for example if you entered "Company Name LTD" but your document states "Company Name Limited", the AI may see this as not being a match.

Lastly, the only steps you can take are the steps you are already takign and that is to continue the verification process in the current format. It cannot be bipassed or moved to someone else otherwise everybody would do it.

Amazon won't step up, unfortunately you need to step up.
