Amazon-optimized Shipment Splits Is Not an Option in My Shipping Plan
I would like to use Amazon-Optimized Shipment Splits, but when I do a shipment, the Amazon-optimized and Partial shipment splits options are greyed out. The only option available is "Minimal Shipment Splits" with the associated placement fee.
I have "Amazon-optimized shipment splits" selected under Settings >> Inbound Settings. The items are small (under 4 ounces) items and are not HazMat.
Am I missing a setting to enable Amazon-Optimized Splits? If not, any idea why it is not an option for me? Is there a selection or setting in the shipment plan that I am missing?

I am also.seeing that too on my end. My box shipping fee used to be$12 and now with the placement fee, it’s $120

Same here.
They rolled out this new fee plan but didn't update the UI or anything related to the workflow. How does it make sense for me to input box information before I can select what option I wish to utilize?
You can change the option under settings to select one, not multiple options from Amazon Opmtimized - Few Shipments or One Location. Why can't I select all of them and pick from the option like it's clearly designed to do from the checkmarks on the UI.

This was sloppy, even for Amazon. How do you place new placement fees, promise the opportunity to select other placement options for lower fees - but not implement any changes to allow those selections?
Are we supposed to wait weeks and not send in inventory until after they fix the problem? Meanwhile, pay the ridiculous fee increases, or else we lose the buy box or BSR ranking?
How the forums or Reddit aren't o
n fire right now, I don't understand. This is a HUGE issue. Maybe no one has created a shipment yet - but holy cow this is a problem.
Does anyone know how to tag mods so we can get some clarification, and a timeline as to when they'll implement the promised options????

Hello @Seller_vENajOcdJ9HWk @Seller_hz8nqlPeCEy8Z and any other seller asking about updates to Amazon-optimized shipping splits.
We are working on getting updates and messaging from our partner teams to share with sellers. In the meantime, please take a look at the information on the following help- page regarding the placement service:

This is ridiculous, our average COGS just increased by 9% with the unreasonable placement fee. We DON'T need Placement Service. We've always followed Amazon's split plan.

Did you go to your account icon in the top right and select fulfillment by Amazon? On the page that appears you can edit your inbound settings. Options are: Amazon-optimized shipment splits, Partial shipment splits, and Minimal shipment splits.

Hello All
So this was a big problem for me but Amazon wants us to make bigger business with them, we got a sent our shipment to 4 different Amazon Fulfillment location to sent as Amazon Optimized Shipment (FREE "NO PLACEMENT FEE")
In addition to do that we got a prep our product in 5-6 may be 7 boxes to split, amazon automatically 4 different fulfillment center. Also each SKU has to go to 4 different Fulfulliment center. That way you can choose Amazon Optimized Shipment Splits

Send more than 1 box.
If you only send 1 box it can only go to 1 FC which has a placement charge.
If you send 4 or 5 boxes it can go to multiple FC's with no charge

This is all very new for all of us. I can see where Amazon is making adjustments in real time.
But right now, if you want to avoid the placement fee for small parcel delivery you have to send in enough boxes to qualify for the no placement fee option.
This will likely mean sending in 4 or more boxes as 2 will only qualify for the "partial" placment fee option.

We manifest manually. This puts us in the driver seat, specifically with pallet and box sizes, wieghts, destinations and placement fees.
We have some heavier SKUs that we send in pallets but about half of our catalog is small so we send inbound with UPS.
