buyer messages

I ordered this when I saw it on for £5.40 but then it got cancelled. I messaged Amazon and they said to reorder the item then they'd refund the difference

Amazon said they would message you on my behalf and you would message me with a response. The item I bought was at a price that I paid then you cancelled my order for me to pay a bigger price on something I'd already bought

item price was £35.99 which was fulfilled by merchant, i told him i cannot refund him since amazon hasn't told us anything about, he still says he wants the refund, why should i refund him when i havent changed the item price or anything, and why would amazon associates suggest him with refund what is this
