Handling Time - Sales Ranking
If you have experience with this, your guidance would be appreciated.
Situation: Currently out of stock of a number of SKUs. Due delivery in approximately 2/3 weeks. (FBM).*
Question: is the extended handling time likely to affect my sales rank VERUS waiting until stock arrives and continuing as normal. Am I also opening myself up to Pre fulfilment cancellations?

Are you able to essentially have a pre-order on those items? I didn’t think you could but, regardless, your sales rank is driven by your sales and the sales of others in the same category/ sub-category.
If you’re selling less then the reason why isn’t really important.

As sales ranking is based on actual sales, then having no stock, is going to lose sales rank.
If you are selling with a loonnnnggg delivery period, then it will help with the ranking, but you are very likely to have a fair few cancellations, when customers actually realise that it’s going to be a long time.
