Dropshipping help
Hi,
I am new to dropshipping and I will be delivering products within the UK only. I have found a few suppliers, however I am confused about returns and refunds. If the customer no longer wants the product I will want to provide them with that specific suppliers return address. Therefore the item will go straight to my supplier. However for the default return address my personal address is coming up. I do not want the returned items to come directly to my address as it would obviously make more sense to go directly to the supplier return address. How do I do this? Without the item coming back to my personal address.
Thanks

When you say your supplier , are you using an official dropshipping firm , with a contract, or just buying from others and passing the buyers details on for them to send orders straight to buyer ?
Unfortunately dropshipping on amazon, unless you have a solid contract with an official dropshipping company, is not a viable selling method

And to add the above, I very much doubt that your dropshipping company, will automatically accept returns.
More than likely, you will need to get them returned to yourself and resell.

From a purely technical point of view, you can set SKU overrides to go to different return addresses.
It can all be down in Manage Returns > Return Settings
You can add additional return addresses in under Manage Return Addresses, then provide a Return Address template under Manage Return Templates.
However, would agree with others, if droppshipping you need to check it adheres to amazons specifications for droppshippers and you would also need a system setup with your suppliers so they can link the returned item to the relevant order.
You’d still likely run into issues like lost or damaged returns or issues if refund at first scan fails to take place.

Have you read the drop shipping policy on Amazon?

Drop shipping Policy
Drop shipping, or allowing a third-party to fulfil orders to customers on your behalf, is not acceptable unless it is clear to the customer that you are the seller of record. The following examples of drop shipping are policy violations that may result in a restriction of your ability to sell using Amazon’s Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN):
- Purchasing products from another online retailer and having that retailer ship directly to customers, if the shipment does not identify you as the seller of record or if anyone other than you (including the other online retailer) appears on packing slips, invoices or external packaging, it is strictly prohibited without exception; or
- Shipping orders with packing slips, invoices, external packaging or other information indicating a seller name or contact information other than your own is also strictly prohibited.
Any time a customer sees packaging, invoices or receipts identifying a seller that is not either you or Amazon it creates confusion for the customer about how their order is being fulfilled and whom they should contact with any problems or questions.
If you intend to fulfil orders using a drop shipper you must always:
- Have an agreement with your supplier that they will identify you, and no one else, as the seller of your products on all packing slips, invoices, external packaging and other information included or provided in connection with the products;
- Remove any packing slips, invoices, external packaging or other information identifying a third-party drop shipper prior to shipping the order;
- Be responsible for accepting and processing customer returns of your products; and
- Comply with all other terms of your seller agreement and applicable Amazon policies.
Any other drop shipping will get your account banned permanently so make sure you are buying from a supplier that fulfils the policy criteria fully. Don’t be tempted to buy from other retail channels (including Amazon or eBay) and sending orders direct to customers.

Stay clear from drop shipping on Amazon, you’ll only get suspended in the end with your income tied up.

Hey @The_Jaycee_Store,
The sellers who have posted here have supported so many new sellers (thank you all), so I would ask that you strongly consider their advice!

Normally companies that do proper dropshipping expect returns to be sent to you and then you send them to them, if faulty. They might not accept returns for other reasons, like customer chose the wrong size or changed their mind. I have done dropshipping for my online shop especially for large items like furniture but I don’t think Amazon is the right place for it, even when done properly and allowed. Firstly, there are only a limited numbers of suppliers who offer proper dropshipping in the UK and there are so many sellers that want to have a go at it, most of them only last a few months, but new ones then arrive. Basically the margins would be ridiculously low, personally I don’t think that it’s a feasible business model on Amazon at the moment.
