Proof of HMRC is not accepted by Amazon as proof of liability for VAT
We do not get our account approved for VAT. Now Amazon is withholding all VAT on our sales. This results in paying VAT twice, which is quite an expensive thing.
We have submitted all required documents and more. Now we even submitted a letter of the HMRC as proof of our liability to pay VAT in the UK. The HMRC is the reason Amazon has set up this whole check in the first place.
Does anyone know how to get the VAT registration sorted? Maybe one of you: @Julia_Amazon @Ezra_Amazon @Sakura_Amazon_ @Sarah_Amzn @Simon_Amazon @Spencer_Amazon @Winston_Amazon @Maja_Amazon @Ash_Amazon @Abella_Amazon @Angie_Amazon @JiAlex_Amazon

My understanding is that as you are classed as NETP for VAT purposes Amazon are legally required to collect VAT and remit it direct to HMRC. You shouldn't be paying VAT direct to HMRC.
As ever specialist advice should be sought, but it seems Amazon are doing what they are required to do.
