My organic vegetable oil based oral care product was removed by lifesafety team

3 months ago we started selling our eSutras Organics Pulling Oil - which did well. Without any warning or note- Amazon removed it saying they need product safety documents. Nothing shows up on our account health either.

We submitted MSDS, COA and the Organic certs for all the ingredients and finished product.

Now it is back on line - with out inventory. They have 165 units in FBA. Is it possible that a competitor has an inside method of targeting new comers? I do not see any sense in this happening - and am totally devastated.

Can somebody please explain this to me? I will be deeply grateful

Happens all the time. They are quick to pull products and beyond slow to put them back for sale. If they have an expiration date, they may hang out in some warehouse until you get a message that they expired and have been destroyed. Also happens frequently. Open cases, re-open the same case until you (hopefully) get some help.

These types of requests come from Amazon directly in efforts to remain compliant with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. More information on product compliance can be found here and under CPSC regulated products.

Your problem is the word "organic." You have to have the USDA organic certification in order to say something is organic. Once you have been dinged by the bot, you have to remove the product and start all over with the organic certification in place.

We got hit with this in 2020. 200 line items removed overnight. No warning.

This was a new rule by the USDA -- had no clue.

As far as Amazon is concerned, the USDA owns the word "organic" and hopefully you did not use the organic symbol.

You have to do the certification. IF you buy the product from company A and they have it organically certified then you will have to go through the process yourself. You are considered a handler of the product and thus you have to be certified.

You can email the USDA and they will help you with this. Be ready to spend some bucks.

to answer your question, yes, but your suspected competitor is most likely amazon

keep in mind amazon is responsible for what is sold here, if anything jeopardizes that, they will use whatever method to remove your listings and account.
