Yet another complete nonsense email from Amazon telling me to update my Handling Time

I have just received the email below from Amazon (with the usual links for logging into my account - when will Amazon stop sending emails with such links - but that a different problem)

Selling Partners typically see a sales uplift of 11%* by improving their delivery speed by 2 days.

Your Promised Handling time vs Actual Handling time is

1.4 Days Promised 1.0 Days Actual

This gap often leads to far longer delivery promises, which looks less attractive to customers. By reducing this gap you can make your offers more appealing to customers.

It goes on to explain I should set my handling time to 0 in Shipping Settings as I am promising 1.4 but actually doing it in 1 and if I do I will typically see a 11% uplift

The only trouble is - my handling time is ALREADY set at 0. I post same day on orders received before 4pm. I have not failed in doing this for years uploading tracking at same time.

How on earth have they calculated my promised handling time as being 1.4 when all my items are set to 0 ??????

I honestly give up sometimes. Its getting to the point I ignore most emails from Amazon as they are mostly redundant or have little to do with me.

We get regular emails listing some of our products that would sell x amount per month if we used FBA. Trouble is all the products they suggest we already send to FBA.

We get the same messages on a fairly regular basis. Total nonsense.

Last week they suggested that I send a specific product to FBA as it would sell more etc. I had sent that product to FBA last year where it disappeared for months, nobody knew anything until I was told that the stock would be returned to me as it was dangerous to human life. They were bath bombs. It just doesn't make sense if they really believed that they were scented weapons of mass destructions, they just kept them there for months and then sent them back to me???

Then they recommended that I advertise X product that would make me an extra £11.59 every 90 days. WOW.

They are not TELLING you to, they are advising you to, its totally optional, you have the option to totally ignore it

How many times have you shopped on amazon and picked something because it had faster delivery? n this is simply all they are advising that you 'could' sell more with faster shipping times

Amazon are perfectly correct. Your actual handling time is <1 day. In order to improve by 2 days, you need to anticipate what the customer wants before they know what they want and send it before they start to look for what they didn't know they wanted.

Much the same as Amazon knowing people want to sign up to prime or a professional selling plan, even though they didn't know they wanted it yet.

It must be the result of some focus groups but I don't think it's always correct. It might be true for expensive items but my items are mostly cheap and when someone sells them on FBA for a a couple of pounds more, I still sell them even without the BB. Otherwise it would be difficult to explain why TEMU is so popular these days.

Personally I often check out 'other sellers' and buy cheapest - not the one with fastest delivery. Its very rare I need something a day earlier.
