Problem adding book WITH ISBN

Is it just me?

Tried to list a book with ISBN which is not on the Amazon database. I wasn’t able to finish for whatever reason. Filled in all the grids correctly on all pages including ISBN etc. However, unless my eyes deceive me, there is no place to fill in publishers’ details. Furthermore, there is a somewhat ambiguous question 'No ISBN?. Is the answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’? Tried both but it made no difference. The same with ‘brand name’. Put in publisher’s name and then left it out.Again, no difference

I await your answers with baited breath as I lie in a darkened room .

“Brand name” appears to be the right field for publisher. But why are you trying to list a book from scratch when it has an ISBN? If it’s a new title, Nielsen (the UK ISBN agency) will upload the details to Amazon from their records - you may have to wait until they do their periodic bulk uploads

Amazon has redesigned the listings pages for books, magazines etc. and listing new products is now a nightmare. Over the past few months I was granted exemptions for lots of publishers, but the redesigned listings page will not recognise the exemptions that Amazon itself granted. Admittedly this is a slightly different problem to yours, but both problems seem to arise from Amazon redesigning something that was working perfectly. In your case I would suggest listing your book and entering the barcode number, but experiment with the ISBN variations in the drop-down box. If the barcode doesn’t work with ISBN, try it with EAN, or GUC, or whatever. Try them all. I once did that and found that one of the options worked, although offhand I can’t remember which option it was.
