A-z cancellation possible after refund?

I had an A-z Issued by customer by accident. I have this morning had to defend the A-Z as 3 days are up.

He just messaged me. On speaking to customer services trying to cancel they suggested he get the refund first then cancel the A-z.

Can this A-z be cancelled after it is lost (which it will be once I refund)?

Thanks!

Yes, once the buyer contacts Amazon and authorises them to recharge his card, the claim will get withdrawn and defect will disappear.

Claims can not be withdrawn with a refund issued. The buyer would have to give up being refunded for the order at all.

So i’ve sent him this. Hopefully he trusts me.

Dear xxxx,

Amazon haven’t given the correct advice. If I refund you and then you cancel the A-Z claim Amazon will recharge your card so I will have to refund again.

The best action is for you to cancel the A-Z claim first. They will tell you you are giving up your right to asking for a refund but that is not a problem as I have already agreed to refund you and I will do so immediately.

I’m so sorry for having to ask you to take this extra step but it is the best way to resolve this issue.

Kind Regards,
