Inbound shipment discrepancy immediately closed and "investigated." FBA is getting unreliable.

I just sent in 25 units of a SKU that is part of my brand. I am the brand owner/manufacturer. The way I pack the box, is the same way I pack similar SKUs. The box usually weighs and ships exactly the same all of the time.

There is a discrepancy of 3 units. Not too much of an issue. But its the principle of there being missing units.

If amazon closes the shipment and marks it as "investigated," there is little the seller can do to prove they sent the shipment other than open a case and show them the packing slip. But even that is not enough anymore.

  1. Are sellers supposed to take photos and video themselves packing the boxes at this point?
  2. How reliant are the employees at amazon warehouses at scanning the products adequately to make the immediate mark of "investigated?"
  3. Are the employees stealing inventory and not scanning them?

The units don't just disappear. FBA issues have been increasing for many sellers over the past year and Amazon doesn't want to be responsible for their negligence.

There is little a seller can do other than film each packing. Its really an absurd thing.

Any help or opinions on this matter?

I have had this happening quite often lately with the most recent one being 7 extra units in a master carton. It doesn't even make sense that we could stuff 7 extra units into a master carton but I opened an investigation and almost immediately they came back with FBA is right. It isn't physically possible but they insist it is.

Hi @Seller_HOnFksWPyIQA8,

Thank you so much for reaching out about this!

Just to confirm, have you followed the steps listed on this help page to reconcile your shipment? If you haven't done so already, I would highly recommend starting there.

Also, if you can please send me your shipment ID and any case IDs you have for this, I'd be happy to take a further look into this situation to see how I can assist further!

Thanks again,

Jameson
