Really Struggling with 0 sales :(

Hi all, I am having a very hard time launching my products on Amazon and thought I’d share one last time to see if any kind souls at there can detect if I’m doing something completely wrong.

  • Launched around July in UK. Upgraded to Pro Account 28th August (about to hit 3 months mark)

  • I have 6 products in total. These are accessories I’ve imported from abroad myself so re-selling under my UK brand but have not private labelled. Despite being Handmade, I can’t put these in Amazon Handmade as I am not the maker.

  • Listings: Two products are FBA since October, got the Buy Button immediately. Only one review on each product, they are 5* each. Listings themselves look good with pro photography as I got feedback on them on forums. Chrome extension agrees.

  • Organic Ranking Issues: I have Helium10, have done my competitor research, got my keywords and optimised. However, whilst on these two products I have about 40-45 Sponsored Keywords showing (and ranking quite ok, some in top 5) in Cerebro + Keyword Tracker, my organic rankings have been awful since the beginning – only about 2 – 5 keywords rank organically for each product despite Indexed ok. So hardly any traffic and conversion.

  • Browse Nodes: Somebody said that my products are not visible in their browse nodes and gave me a new node to use but I don’t understand this enough and it made no difference it seems.

  • Sponsored Products: To date, I’ve spent £150 for over 200k impressions, CTR of 0.1% and got 2 conversions (£70 revenue). I watched several videos, have Automatic Campaign, Manual Exact, and a Product Targeting that I optimise daily in terms of bids, negative keywords etc. Terrible CTR and even worse ACOS overall. The 2 sales I got were ages ago when I first went live and despite all the optimisation, got no other sales in the last month.

  • Have lowered my price by 15% last Friday to bring it more in line with competition – this seems to have had NO effect and I’m still losing the Buy Box on some days despite me being the only seller.

Any ideas?

@PickleJuiceDesign It took us at least 12-18 months to get regular sales as like you we started with very few lines .

I have no experience in handbags however your designs look very summer season . Perhaps change some images to show in a Winter party setting ?

If no sales play with title and from experience short and succinct bullet points as people will only skim read and you have but a few seconds to grab their attention .

Good luck as its a lot harder now to get started then it was when we stated

You’ve obviously put some thought into this, but what really lets the listing down is the detailed product description. The copy needs to be proof read and rewritten, and just as importantly formatted so that it’s easier to read on the eye.

Hi, @PickleJuiceDesign I am also a fairly new seller and what I found to be fairly effective is to have content rich title up to 200 characters (with spaces) and longer more descriptive bullet points. I have been selling 5 products with good success and they are still increasing in sales.
In your case I would recommed you to write more in bullet points and the title. However, try to make it as applicable to the item as possible. For example, when you describe the material of the bag instead of just writing syntetic be more specific. Describe if it smooth or rough, embossed or plain. This kind of stuff in my opinion is very important because it not only grants you extra keyword in the listing but also appeals to the customer that wants to be convinced to buy.
Good luck with your venture,

I have been selling on Amazon since Sept 2019 and from my personal experience, people are fixed on impulse buys its crazy. For example I first started with a bundle that had 5 items in it which were all relevant to each other like party cutlery, plates etc. It was first priced at £40…then £35…then £25…next to no sales.

I pulled all stock from FBA and separated all items and listed them individually …5 items priced from £8-£10 and now I get 30+ sales a day and mostly customers buying 3 items from me in same order for £25+ but were not willing to pay the £25 for the same items + 2 extra items… I think people see a low price and just impulse buy where as a higher price even tho they are saving money and getting extra items then hesitate to buy.

Another example selling a pack of 10 items for £49.99…hardly any sales …sold them for £10 each and getting orders everyday for 5+ packs.

Regarding your feature description instead of this

This multicolour clutch bag has novelty floral design with vibrant colours, and a modern style with chic tassel.

Try this

Want to impress someone ? Be it on a beach or evening dinner date , this multicolour clutch bag wont let you down. With its vibrant colours and a modern style with chic tassel you will make a statement no matter the occasion.

Make your feature description relevant to your customers dont just explain features tell them why YOU WANT THIS. Stick it in there head that without this item they are missing out.

Also another advice start your feature description bullet points with a BOLD statement …make the customer want to read more.

Example don’t just list the size of the handbag, Start with

You like it big or small ? Size matters !

its cheeky I know but it gets the customers attention.

Also I agree Title has to be a specific length - depending on your category. I have herd from many top sellers that increasing your title length triggers some kind of algorithm in Amazon that shows your listing a lot less than it should.

Hope this helps - all the best hope you get more and more sales

You’ve obviously put some thought into this, but what really lets the listing down is the detailed product description. The copy needs to be proof read and rewritten, and just as importantly formatted so that it’s easier to read on the eye.

Thanks all so much guys I’ve extracted all your feedback and will start working on it today to see if I can fix something for Black Friday. All the differing opinions mean I’m not going crazy - I’ve probably tried the more long winded titles/bullets/description but not the shorter ones so will give those a go now. Shout out to @Z.S for having a go at re-writing copy for me
