BRAND registry

I am qurious about BRAND registry.
I have a product wich requires a brand register. I bought this product directly from the brand owner, but they are not registered on Amazon. I registered the item as a new new product with it's own EAN number and put in the Brand name. Amazon now requires me to register my own brand if I want to sell this product. But of course I can't register someone elses brand 'cause I don't have any information for it except the brand name. What should I do? Should I ask the owner of the brand to open a Amazon seller accout so they can register theyr brand, that's bs. Thank you for any help

can you explain a bit more what you mean by this:
Did you get an error code or something similar?
In general you are not required to register a brand that is not yours. Some categories or brands might need extra approval before you can start selling their products though. There are also different roles within Amazon Brand Registry. You can find more information about the roles in the Brand Registry user FAQ.
