Inquiry About Opening a Separate Amazon Seller Account

Dear Amazon Seller Support,

I have a few questions regarding opening an Amazon Seller account. My spouse currently sells on Amazon through her own business. I would like to know if it is possible for me to open a separate Amazon Seller account independently from my spouse.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your guidance.

There is no prohibition against that. However, you must not sell the same sort of items -- this will be considered a second account, not a completely separate account. You should have separate everything except address.

If one account gets in trouble, both will go down.

and to add to that, the accounts can never interact with each other, or each other's competition, IN ANY WAY

Hi @Seller_KIvq1NhxH0Mjs

Connor from Amazon here, thank you for the question. You may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. If any of your accounts are not in good standing, we may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all accounts are in good standing.

Examples of a legitimate business justification include:

  • You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each
  • You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies
  • You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts

Please reference the resources below for more information on this as well.

Please let me know if there are any other questions.

Thanks,

Connor
