Your experience of it, is unlikely to be the same as others.
So much depends on what your actually selling. ie the competition etc.
But in theory, you should generally sell a lot more over there, simply because the market itself is just so much bigger.
So maybe it’s time to look at what your selling?

Initial courier shipping to Amazon FC is expensive. currently there a Fuel Surcharge of 36% (DHL).
You may also have to pay an FBA placement fee to ship items to same warehouse in USA. You’ll need a USA mailbox address for FBA returns (if you chose not to dispose them). If an SKU get pulled by Amazon for safety document (DOC) checks - you need to make sure you have the documents in USA format. FBA fees are alot higher in the USA than UK, but you can use Small and Light for items selling under $10.

Yep, I used to do FBM, but the RM Airmail postage went up from circa £2.00 per parcel (300g average weight) to over £7. So I switched it all to FBA. It used to be cheaper to send Airmail to USA than RM48 to UK

I used to sell on .com but it became more trouble than it was worth. Between the constant Amazon interferance and the hi-jackers, my sales dwinled to almost nothing.

It went from being quite profitable, to loosing money on every sale. In the end I sold off my stock and never went back.

I still get emails from my ‘account manager’ trying to get me to go back, but there’s no way I’d do that unless there was a complete culture change at Amazon.

Yes. Going well so far. A few hiccups along the way but overall worthwhile.
