Another Pricing error and Fair Pricing moan

I've been listing my latest batch of books. Listed them based on a fair price for the item and sent in the shipment. The shipment was received and checked in yesterday. This morning I have 14 listings deactivated for potential high price error.

Example now why I am getting niggled..

I am told I have a high price error at £20.18 and that I must list no higher than £9.99

img

Then why can I buy it at £20.18

img

I get that £20.18 is not a Featured Offer or Buy Box price but why deactivate my listing at a lower price but this seller can sell it at this price??

I too am a bookseller, and frequently get these de-activations for 'potential' high price. Unfortunately their algorithm does not take into account the condition, so they will simply look at any condition, and if yours is higher price because it is maybe 'Like new', they will still deactivate.

The only way for them not to be deactivated is to list as 'Collectible, BUT they must fit into the criteria for collectible, and if not then they will also remove them.

To be honest, I would NEVER sell second-hand books via FBA as you could end up with high long-term storage fees if they don't sell, and as you have found, your particular one will never sell as it is deactivated and so will need to be removed, OR you lower the price to a level that THEY think is OK. Verges on price-fixing in many people's eyes but not Amazon's !!
