Amazon FC Transfer

I live in Ontario, I shipped some items from Ontario via UPS to Amazon's FC in Alberta and it arrived quite quickly and was checked in and is 'receiving' right now, but now all 12 items in the shipment are now being transferred back to an Ontario FC. Why does this happen? Why not just have me send it to the Ontario FC in the first place. This is such a waste of time and killer on sales as they should be prime eligible in the next day or so and now who knows how long it'll take for them to get back to Ontario. This shouldn't happen. Especially right before Christmas. Is there any way to see the tracking on the shipment from Alberta back to Ontario?

Hello @Seller_ojXXRC00ZseD9,

Thank you for sharing your experience and concerns about the movement of your inventory within Amazon's fulfillment network. It's understandable that you're frustrated, especially during the crucial holiday season.

Here's some insight into your situation and steps you can take:

1. Inventory Placement: Amazon's system decides where to place inventory based on various factors, including anticipated demand and overall network efficiency. Sometimes, this can lead to unexpected transfers.

2. Tracking Internal Transfers: Unfortunately, sellers typically can't track internal transfers between FCs. These movements are managed by Amazon's internal logistics system.

3. Prime Eligibility: While frustrating, these transfers shouldn't affect your Prime eligibility long-term. Amazon aims to maintain Prime status across its network.

4. Checking Status:

  • Use the 'Manage FBA Inventory' page in Seller Central to monitor your inventory status.
  • The 'Reserved' quantity might indicate items in transit between FCs.

Steps you can take:

  1. Monitor your inventory closely in Seller Central.
  2. If you notice significant delays, contact Seller Support for an update.

We appreciate your patience as Amazon optimizes its fulfillment network. If you continue to experience issues that significantly impact your business, don't hesitate to reach out to Seller Support for further assistance.

Remember, while these transfers can be inconvenient, they're part of Amazon's efforts to ensure efficient delivery to customers across Canada.
