Violation Due to Customer Claiming Item is Inauthentic
My account was deactivated in April due to my virtual assistant stealing my identity and opening an an Amazon account using my information. I made a report to the FBI, I submitted all the documents Amazon wanted but got nowhere. I finally hired an attorney and my account was reinstated in late October.
Going forward things were good until 12/8 when Amazon gave me a policy violation for an inauthentic item that has sold ZERO times in the past year. The item as at FBA the whole time my account was deactivated. Now Amazon wants an invoice that is less than 365 days old - which I do not have - because my account was deactivated for the majority of 2024. The item is a winter coat. I submitted the invoice from my supplier but it is more than 365 days old because I bought it in the winter of 2023. Since there were no sales until recently and the customer wanted free return they claim inauthentic.
Of course, Amazon will not accept my proof of authenticity because it is more than 365 days old. There has not even been a sale of this item for over 1 year. How can they expect me to provide an invoice for something that I have one of and it was purchased before my account was deactivated and the sale has just now been made. Customers can say whatever they want and Amazon acts on it. I do not even know what the customer said that makes Amazon believe this is an inauthentic item.
Hope this makes sene and someone can help me or a moderator will get involved, Now my account is "at risk" due to this one winter coat that sold last week.

Can someone please express to TPTB that asking for an invoice within the last year for a product that has been in FBA for over a year, or for a violation that occurred over a year ago, is absurd?
At best, this time limitation is bad, since many people will want to buy in quantity. But to ask for an invoice dated after the product was already in Amazon FC is really dumb.

Hello @Seller_iSHGFRMSsbQp4,
Thank you for posting your concerns with an authenticity complaint and invoice review.

I appreciate your explanation of the situation and have reached out to a few teams for clarification on your situation and received a bit of information I would like to confirm.
I was informed that your this concerns includes:
ASIN: B0814C38V8
Title: Columbia Boys' Timber Turner Jacket
Brand: Columbia
I have also been informed that you are attempting to provide receipts for your purchase. At this time the current product mentioned and UPC cannot be verified or confirmed to be present on your receipt. The receipt itself has a rather wide line in the middle of the receipt going from top to bottom obfuscating the information under it. Removing the concern of the 365-day requirement, these documents will not meet our requirements to be accepted. Do you have different sourcing documents for this specific product and matching UPC?
Please also keep in mind that I am trying to confirm details associated with your situation since my visibility is rather limited outside these teams sharing information.
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
Emet.
